Crete has pressed olives for four thousand years. Kolymvari is the valley where that patience tastes best. This is the oil Cretan families keep for their own table, now delivered to yours.

From one valley in western Crete

Kolymvari sits between the White Mountains and the Mediterranean coast. Its olive oil is so distinct that the European Union protects the name itself.

The groves

Old trees, hand picked

Koroneiki olives grow slowly in dry Cretan hills. Families pick them at exactly the right ripeness, the same way their grandparents did.

The press

Cold extracted within hours

Olives go from branch to press on the same day. Cold extraction keeps the aroma, the peppery finish and the natural antioxidants intact.

The bottle

Sealed at origin, shipped to Pakistan

Every bottle and tin is filled and sealed in Chania, Greece, then imported directly. Nothing is blended, refilled or repacked on the way.

Proof, not promises

Olive oil is one of the most faked foods in the world. Creta Verde carries its evidence on every label.

0.42% max
Acidity on the label

The EU limit for extra virgin is 0.8%. Creta Verde is pressed to at most 0.42%, roughly half of it.

How you know it is real

Pakistanis are right to ask whether an olive oil is genuine. Here is what to check on ours, bottle in hand.

  • The PDO seal on every labelThe red and yellow European PDO mark plus the AGROCERT certificate number. Only oil from Kolymvari may carry it.
  • Sealed at origin, never refilledFactory sealed dark glass and tins from Chania. We import them closed and they reach you closed.
  • Lot number and best before dateEvery unit is traceable to its pressing. Check the printed lot on the back label.
  • The taste testReal fresh extra virgin has a green, slightly bitter taste and a peppery catch in the throat. That pepper is the polyphenols.

How Crete eats it

Pour it raw where you can taste it, over food at the table. It is fine for everyday cooking too, and its aroma shows best unheated.
